Full length consoles are sized to the specific cab they suit. The 79 single cab pre-DPF (2009 to 10/2016) has a wider gap than the post-2016 cab with the updated bucket seats. The 79 dual cab uses a different floor layout to the single cab because of the second-row seat anchor positions. The 78 Troop Carrier console is sized for the Troopy floor pan.
