Fit anything wider than a stock 265 to a 79 and you have two new problems. Bodywork constantly getting peppered with stones thrown sideways by the tyres, and a registration that is technically no longer compliant because the tread now extends past the factory guards. Fender flares solve both at once. They extend the guard line out to cover the wider tread, deflect the stones and mud away from the body panels, and give the ute the wider stance that owners want from the look. Once flares are fitted, the factory guards are protected and the rego is back on the right side of the law.

FIBREGLASS MOULDED FOR THE 79 PROFILE

The flares in this collection are moulded from fibreglass with a paintable gel-coat finish that takes colour-matching to your ute body, or a textured black finish straight out of the box if you prefer the look. Fibreglass is the material of choice for flares. Lightweight, shape-stable in extreme heat, easy to repair after a track scrape, and it does not warp or sag like cheaper ABS does over time. Each flare follows the exact guard contour of the 79 single cab or dual cab body and uses factory mounting points or supplied marker hardware for a flush fit with no body modifications.

Flares for the 79 Series Landcruiser are available as front and rear sets, separately or as a complete vehicle kit depending on the build. The 79 single cab and dual cab share front flares but the rear flares are body-style specific because the rear panel shapes differ. HDJ79, VDJ79 (2007 to 2023) and GDJ79 (2024 onward) variants are all covered. Each listing confirms exact body style and year fitment.
