EXHAUSTS FOR A TROOPY THAT IS RARELY LIGHTLY LOADED

BREATHE BETTER UNDER LOAD

Troopys are rarely lightly loaded. Touring kit, water, fuel, gear, sometimes a roof-top tent and an awning on top of the lot. The factory exhaust on a 78 was tuned for noise compliance with an empty cabin, so under serious load the engine ends up working harder than it needs to. A free-flowing aftermarket exhaust lowers backpressure, drops exhaust gas temperatures during sustained towing or climbing, and gives the Troopy a deeper note that suits its character. The improvement shows up most when you are running fully loaded across the country, exactly when it matters.

409 STAINLESS, TURBO BACK OR DPF BACK

Our 78 exhaust range is built from 409-grade stainless steel for long-term corrosion resistance in the outback dust and humidity that destroys mild steel. Turbo-back systems suit pre-DPF V8s for full-system replacement. DPF-back kits keep the factory particulate filter in place for road-legal compliance on 2016-onward models. Engine pipes, dump pipes, and DPF adaptor kits round out the options. Every system uses factory hangers and supplied gaskets for bolt-on fitment. Most come with extended manufacturer warranties.

SUITS 1HZ, 1VD V8, AND 1GD 2.8L TROOPYS

This collection covers exhausts for the HZJ78 1HZ (1999 to 2007), VDJ78 V8 (2007 to 2023), and GDJ78 2.8L facelift (2024 onward). The 1HZ uses 2.5 inch piping. The V8 runs 3 inch or 3.5 inch. The 2.8L uses its own DPF-back configuration. Each listing confirms engine code, year, and bore size. Auxiliary fuel tank variants are flagged separately because the rear exhaust routing differs around the second tank.
