Some Troopy builds use aftermarket bucket seats that sit closer together than the factory units, or have the gearbox tunnel taking up part of the front floor. In both cases a full length centre console will not fit. A half length console solves the packaging problem while still adding the most important comfort and storage features. The padded armrest sits at the right height for both driver and passenger. Two cup holders are integrated. A lockable storage compartment holds wallet, phone, sunglasses, and small daily items. For Troopy owners who tried a full length console and ran into clearance issues, the half length is the working alternative.
SAME BUILD AS FULL LENGTH, SHORTER FOOTPRINT
The half length consoles in this collection use the same steel internal frame and marine-grade carpet or vinyl wrap as the full length range. The construction quality is identical. Only the footprint is shorter, ending forward of where a full length unit would meet the rear of the front seats. The padded armrest is full size for proper elbow support. Mounting uses factory floor anchor points without drilling. Installation typically takes under thirty minutes with basic hand tools and a couple of trim removal tools.
VDJ AND GDJ TROOPY FITMENT
The half length consoles fit the VDJ78 V8 (2007 onwards) and GDJ78 2.8L (2024 onwards) Troopys. Pre-2007 HZJ Troopys used different seat anchors and need a separate console fitment. The Troopy front cabin layout stayed consistent across the VDJ era, so the same console fits the full V8 production run. The GDJ facelift uses an updated seat configuration that needs the facelift-specific option. Each listing confirms exact year range and trim level before you order.
